This GIANT Yamagata Kokeshi is 46 cm (18") !! Like a newborn !
The Yamagata kokeshi have a small head, inserted into the body with a red decoration on the top of the head called tegara. They have a bang and side fringe ; their noses may be round, inverted V shaped or represented with two small vertical lines.
Their bodies are slim with patterns such as plum or cherry blossoms, or chrysanthemums.

This Large Yajiro kokeshi doll is 41 cm (16") ! When we shake her head, we can hear the sound of a rattle.

Yajiro kokeshi dolls have the head inserted in the body. They often have a beret with various colors.
They have side fringes and a decoration behind the fringes.
Their body is straight, but some Yajiro dolls have a distinct waist o curvaceous body.
They used to have a wider base which makes her very stable.
Finally, these Yajiro kokeshi have lovely blushed cheeks !

This JUMBO Togatta kokeshi doll is 37 cm (14,6")
Togatta style is the kokeshi style most prevalent, produced in miyagi prefecture, Tohoku region of Japan.
During the manufacturing process, the head is assembled on the body.
The pattern on the body of Togatta are often chrysanthemums, plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, or irises.
Togatta have side fringes, a wide head, and their nose is often a V inverted.
